Mr. William Hart is the PA Distance music teacher for grades 8-12. While high school music courses are electives at PA Distance, Mr. Hart strives to provide a variety of course options that educate students about the wonderful world of music.

PA Distance is thrilled to have the newly-formed Community Engagement team to facilitate open communication and offer support when students, and their parents, need it. On the front lines of this effort is PA Distance's new Community Engagement Coach and Social Worker, Ms. Kathy Timmerman. Ms. Timmerman has years of relevant family engagement experience, coming from a prior position with Children Youth Services, and has a strong family & community support philosophy.

The PA Distance Board of Trustees may be lesser known than the administration, teachers, and support staff within the school family, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t as committed. The Board, made of local community leaders dedicated to creating an exceptional learning environment for students, acts as an oversight committee for PA Distance’s business processes, strategic plans, financials, administration, and everything in-between.

Ms. Carol Smialek grew up with an immediate interest in teaching after attending her father's lectures as a college professor when she was a child. Those experiences, combined with her natural curiosity about history, lead her to become a high school Social Studies teacher.
