Guest Speakers Encourage Students to Dream Big at Elementary Career Day
November 21 was Elementary Career Day at PA Distance! Throughout the day, students listened to various guest speakers describe what they love most about their jobs.
Jaxon Jerico, a 10th grader at PA Distance Learning Charter School, attended the Westmoreland County Music Educators Association’s Senior High County Chorus Festival on November 18th at Belle Vernon High School. He was the first cyber and charter school student to participate in the festival.

RylieMilesofNewCastle,PA,hasalwaysbeeninvolvedindance.Sinceshewasatoddler,she has been taking classes at her local dance studio. Rylie started taking tap and jazz classes, but as she watched the older girls walk by with pointe shoes, she knew she wanted to join them at the ballet barre one day.
11th-Grader Rook Fait Excels Inside & Outside of the Classroom as He Prepares for a Future in Computer Science
PA Distance 11th-grader Rook Fait has been excelling in class, developing his career plans, and keeping busy with extracurricular activities over the last few years. Now a junior, he is preparing to apply to colleges to further his computer science-focused career aspirations.

PA Distance 4th-Grader Payton Duncan Named PA Coalition of Public Charter Schools Artwork Competition Winner
The Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools (PCPCS) named PA Distance 4th-grader Payton Duncan as a Fourth Annual Essay/Picture Competition winner for the artwork part of the contest. The contest invited charter school students across Pennsylvania to draw (grades K-4) and write about (grades 5-12) “a charter school teacher who inspired me and why”.
