Family Learning Expense Fund & Internet Reimbursement Available to Enrolled Families

Posted by PA Distance Learning on 1/3/22 8:12 AM

Did you know that PA Distance offers reimbursement for families who supplement their child’s education during the school year (and even during the summer months)? PA Distance also reimburses high-speed internet service charges for the duration of an active student’s enrollment.

NOTE: In order to benefit from these programs, parents/guardians must complete the necessary paperwork and adhere to required deadlines (outlined below).

Family Learning Expense (FLEx) Fund

The Family Learning Expense, or FLEx, Fund reimburses families twice a year (up to $50 per semester) for each enrolled student. The fund is available to reimburse at-home classroom materials (beyond items supplied by PA Distance), educational activities, and events that supplement their student’s education.

Approved examples include, but are not limited to: tutoring expenses, educational books or online media, PA Distance sponsored field trip travel expenses, music lessons, office supplies, dance lessons or gym memberships, and much more.

To participate in the FLEx Fund reimbursement program, families must complete a request form and submit all corresponding receipts or expense documentation.

Internet Reimbursement

Charges to maintain high-speed internet in a family home may also be reimbursed by PA Distance, on a quarterly basis, while enrolled. To participate in the Internet Reimbursement Program, families must complete a request form and submit all corresponding internet bills or invoices. Students must maintain enrollment through each quarter in order to be eligible for reimbursement.

Program Submission Information, Technology Troubleshooting & Contact Information

Each quarter (for internet reimbursements) and each semester (for FLEx fund reimbursements), our program coordinator, Sarah Keeler, sends submission forms and requirements to each parent’s PA Distance Gmail account (in fact, one was recently sent out on January 1st). It is important that all parents/guardians check their school email accounts regularly to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be reimbursed for these expenses.

Detailed information about the programs and FAQ’s can be found here

For issues submitting required receipts or documents, PA Distance Tech. Support is here to help when using Google Forms.

If a parent/guardian has any questions or concerns about these programs, please contact Sarah Keeler at (888) 997-3352 ext.101 or email her at reimbursements@padistance.org
