On Thursday, October 21st, PA Distance hosted a multi-location Open House for enrolled students, their families, and members of the community to offer support, local resources, and learning opportunities. This year's Open House theme focused on building connections within the communities in which our students live.

Regional Community Engagement Coach, Miss Amy Dunn, Connects with Families Across Pennsylvania
Miss Amy Dunn arrived at PA Distance with a wealth of experience. With an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from the University of Tampa and a B.S. in Early Childhood and Special Education from the California University of Pennsylvania, Miss Dunn brings substantial knowledge to the new Community Engagement team at PA Distance. Her role as a Community Engagement Coach takes her to cities and towns across Pennsylvania, with a focus on Central Pennsylvania, where our PA Distance families live and work.

Mrs. Jessica Chavers started at PA Distance during the 2020-2021 school year to teach 3rd grade Social Studies and English Language Arts (ELA). Now, in her second school year, she is solely focusing on teaching ELA.

Now the newly minted Research and Development Coordinator, Mrs. Katherine Heiles began her career at PA Distance over 10 years ago in 2008 as an English teacher. As a new teacher in the world of cyber education, she was immediately interested in learning more about instructional technology and innovation that could improve her student’s learning and propel her classroom into the future.
