73. That's the number of graduates in the PA Distance Learning Class of 2017. On Saturday, June 10, 2017 they came together, surrounded by friends and family, teachers and counselors, to walk out of the world of high school and to walk into their boundless futures.

PA Distance Gaming Club Students Chosen for National Contest
PA Distance Learning is proud to announce that two of the groups from its Game Design Club have been chosen as finalists in the Pittsburgh Area in the Games for Change Student Challenge.
PA Distance Learning social studies teacher Katie Devlin piloted the club to allow students to learn game design and coding, which has ended in 7 of the students participating in a national competition!

Cyber School Graduation | Congratulations to Kindergarten Graduates!
Today was a big day for 19 amazing kindergarten students, as they officially graduate and are moving to the 1st grade! Big thanks to the 8 students who came into our office, and for the 5 who were able to attend virtually!

Believe it or not, getting high school students excited to learn history is not always a walk in the park. (You mean to tell me you’re NOT pumped to dive into the intricate causes and effects of WWI?!) Add to that the obstacle of not having students physically in your presence in a cyber school setting and you need to do some fancy footwork to make sure students are staying engaged with their lessons. Through trial and error (AKA: a teacher's best friend) I have found some methods that promote student engagement in my classroom.
