SUMMER LEARNING: FREE VIRTUAL CAMPS

Summer educational opportunities abound through online summer camps

Summer time often brings the dreaded phrase, "I'm bored," yet chores never seem to be the thing kids are after.  Parents, you have some options this summer!

PA Distance Learning Charter School is offering fun educational camps this summer for all Pennsylvania students in grades K-9.  As many parents look out for ways to engage their children educationally over the summer, these camps will provide a world of learning opportunities for only one hour each day for one week.  Due to a limited number of openings for each camp, parents are encouraged to register early.

Ms. Angela Berger, who is overseeing the camps as well as leading the Spanish Camps, is very excited for a second summer of virtual camps.  “We’ll have lots of hands-on activities, games, and virtual tours,” said Berger. “Students won’t just be listening, they’ll be active participants.” Kits for the hands-on activities will be sent to students prior to the start of camp so that all students have the necessary supplies.

Non-PA Distance students will have to provide their own computer, but the online classroom and activities will be easily accessible on the web. There is no limit to the number of camps students are allowed to attend, but there are a limited number of seats for each camp. Registration will close on May 26th, 2017.
