Members of the Guitar Center Music Foundation believe in a world in which music is cherished and respected for the immense value it brings to humanity. They work to ensure music stays accessible so that all people can add their voices to the chorus of creative, unifying, and healing expression that exists within this extraordinary craft.

Since 2005, the nonprofit foundation has supported hundreds of music education programs and reached over 300,000 people, PA Distance Learning Charter School included! Earlier this month, the Guitar Center Music Foundation generously donated 41 ukuleles to our music department.

Each ukulele will be sent to PA Distance students at the start of the school year to use during class. Our teachers are ecstatic to implement these instruments into the curriculum and support our students’ passion for music.

The ukuleles will also be utilized by Ukulele Club members. This after-school program led by Mr. Hart and Ms. Sapp was created for those who want to learn how to play the ukulele or would like to build upon their current skills. Members learn how to play popular songs as well as compose some of their own.

We would like to give a special thanks to Christian, grants manager for the Guitar Center Music Foundation, for his exceptional kindness and generosity. The donation makes an unequivocal difference in the lives of students, families, and staff at PA Distance.
