It is set up a lot like college, so in a way, it is preparing you for what you are going to go through for the most part. This makes the transition into college a lot smoother. “The teachers really take the time with their students and provide lots of ways and time to help each student if needed. The staff all work together well as a team and with the families. The encouragement and support they provide students is wonderful. Tech support is very helpful from big to small. Guidance counselors are very involved and help as much as possible to give the child a great education and work with the parents to help overcome barriers. The principal is very engaged with the school staff students and family making for an even more pleasant education experience. All staff are very efficient and attentive and respond to student and parent concerns quickly. Grades and monitoring your child’s progress is available all the time not just quarterly. I have three students each with their own challenges and strengths and they have managed each child as an individual not a one size fits all education. “As a cyber-school student at PA Distance, I was able to flourish immensely by getting to know myself as an individual and academically. Even after fluctuations in my grades and feeling like a failure personally, I was not deterred from success the same way that I may have been in a public-school setting.
