Ms. Berger, the World Language teacher, will be offering virtual French and Spanish summer camps for elementary students during the week of July 5. Spanish for grades K-2 will meet daily from 9:30-10:30 and grades 3-5 will meet from 1-2PM. French for grades K-2 will meet from 11-12PM and grades 3-5 will meet from 2:30-3:30. You can register your child to attend by clicking here.

Students will be introduced to basic vocabulary through interactive games, songs and stories. By the end of the week, they will be able to have a short conversation in French or Spanish. Students will delve into culture by learning about food and holidays.

French students will embark on virtual field trips to France, Canada and Senegal. Spanish students will visit Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica and Guatemala. French students will learn to paint in the style of the Impressionists while Spanish students will learn how to make their own piñatas. Ms. Berger and her son, Alexander, will teach the students how to make Spanish and French food.

Any child who cannot attend this week’s camp can still complete the activities on their own. The French and Spanish camp websites contain vocabulary lessons, games, songs, virtual tours, craft and cooking tutorials from the camps.
