Why Use Google Apps in our Education?

Although cyber school feels like a new frontier, we make sure we keep what has traditionally led to success in for students front and center: relationships and communication. Because of this and many other reasons, we are a G-Suite School.

What does it mean to be a G-Suite School?

The GSuite refers to the use of Google Apps to easily communicate, collaborate, create, and organize within an organization. These Apps include Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Hangouts, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Sites, Forms, Keep, and more. As a G-Suite school, every member of our school community (staff, students, and parents) has access to these apps through their assigned Google account, manageable by the school. Once logged in to our PA Distance Google domain, our staff, students, and parents can easily be connected with one another, leading to seamless communication.

Why is this a good thing?

Being a GSuite school allows us to do the following:
  • Staff is easily accessible through a variety of options for communication (email, chat, video calling, and voice)
  • Easily share school information
  • Collaborate on projects and documents
  • Schedule meetings and help sessions with access to video calling
The great thing is that Google is always improving itself, so all of these tasks are continually being updated and improved, which benefits our learning environment greatly, and allows for constant communication.
